4.3.1 Sound Velocity
FLUXUS uses the sound velocity of the medium for the calculation of the
transducer distance at the beginning of the measurement. However, the sound
velocity does not influence the measuring result directly. Often, an accurate value
of the sound velocity for a given medium is unknown as, to a great extent, the
sound velocity depends on the medium temperature. Therefore, a
possible range
of the sound velocity must be entered.
1400.0 m/s

P12
Enter the
minimum
and

values of the sound velocity for the
respective medium in m/s. Confirm

1550.0 m/s
c-Medium MAX
P13
Note:
FLUXUS accepts sound velocities between 800 and 3500 m/s .
4.3.2 Kinematic Viscosity
The kinematic viscosity influences the flow profile of the liquid. FLUXUS uses the
entered value of the kinematic viscosity and other parameters for the profile
correction.
1.01 mm2/s

respective medium within a
range from
0.1 up to 30,000.00 mm

4.3.3 Density
The input of the density of the medium is only necessary when
mass flow
has
been selected as an output option. There is no direct influence of the medium
density with respect to the measurement of volume flow.
Note:
Mass flow is not measured directly. FLUXUS obtains the result for mass flow by
multiplying volume flow with the density value which has been entered.

medium within a
range from 0.10 to
