12.5.8 Conventions when in Super-User Mode
The general rules for the Super-User Mode are also applicable for the WTM
option.
This means:
•
No limit values for all input parameters
•
Display of measured values that are outside the specified limits
•
Probe parameters can be edited in program branch PARAMETER
12.6 Program Branch WTM-OUTPUT OPTIONS
FLUXUS modifies the program branch OUTPUT OPTIONS for the operational
mode wall thickness measurement (WTM).
(However, this cannot be recognised explicitly.)
12.6.1 Set-up of the Measuring Quantity

can be defined, as with flow measurement, in
program branch OUTPUT OPTIONS.

The wall thickness of a material will be measured
by using the known longitudinal sound velocity,
which must be entered in program branch

The longitudinal sound velocity will be measured
by using the known thickness of the material,
which must be entered in program branch
PARAMETER.
Attention!
The wall thickness measurement always determines the longitudinal sound velocity.
However, for the flow measurement, the transversal sound velocity of the pipe
material* is usually used. This means:
With the WTM option, the sound velocity cannot always be determined for
'Other Material' required for flow measurement.
* With some exceptions, the transversal sound velocity for a material is
about 30 % ... 60 % of the longitudinal sound velocity.
12.6.2 Set-up of other Output Options
It is possible to print or transmit online the measured values of the WTM option
(wall thickness or sound velocity). This might be useful for, e.g. documenting all
conditions of a measuring data set.
