4.7.8. Branch Prediction
This section in the tab allows you to choose either dynamic or static for your branch
prediction type. As for the number of entries (2-bits wide) you can choose to have
256, 4096, or up to 8192 entries.

Through the RAM Memory Protection section you can include the
reset_req
signal
for OCI RAM and Multi-Cycle Custom Instructions.
4.8. The Quartus Prime IP File
The Quartus
®
Prime IP file (
.qip
) is a file generated by the MegaWizard
™
Plug-In
Manager, that contains information about a generated IP core. You are prompted to
add this
.qip
file to the current project at the time of Quartus Prime file generation.
In most cases, the
.qip
file contains all of the necessary assignments and information
required to process the core or system in the Quartus Prime compiler. Generally, a
single
.qip
file is generated for each IP core and for each Platform Designer system.
However, some complex components generate a separate
.qip
file, so the
system
.qip
file references the component
.qip
file.
