Word Processing 121

To use the Thesaurus:

1. Choose Thesaurus from the Edit menu.

A dialog box appears:

2. If you have highlighted a word in your text, its definition and synonym

will automatically appear.

Type in the word you want to look up and click on Lookup.

3. If more than one definition for the current word appears in the

Definitions For box, select the definition you want. This list contains

possible definitions for the current word, including the part of speech

(noun, verb, adjective, and so on) and first part of the definition text.

When youselect a different definition, the list of synonyms in the

Synonyms for This Definition box changes. The text in the Full Text of

Definitionbox changes as well.

4. Select the synonym you want in the Synonyms for This Definition box.

The synonym youselected becomes the current word and appears in the

current word box.

Type a different word in the current word box.

5. To look up definition(s) and synonym(s) for the current word, click

Lookup.

6. To go back to a previous word, click on Back and select the previous

word you want.

It appears in the current word box.

7. Click on Replace to replace the selected word in the text with the current

word in the dialog box.

Word Processing replaces the text.

8. Click on Close to close the dialog box.
