Scrapbook 251
Importing a Scrap from a DOS Application
You can import images from other DOS applications to a scrapbook. An
item is
imported
when it is transferred from another application into an
Ensemble application. For example, you can import text or images that are
in TIFF, PCX, or WordPerfect formats to your scrapbook.
To import an item from another application:
1. Open the scrapbook in which you want to place the image.
2. Locate the page that you want to follow the imported page.
3. Choose Import Scrap from the File menu.
The Import Scrap dialog box
appears and shows a list of filenames
.
Your system will ask for the diskette
containing the import libraries.
Select the file you
want to import.
Select the format
of the imported file.
Click Import to
select the file.
Click here to import the file.
4. Select the name of the file you want to import, and click on Import.
5. Insert Diskette 2, which contains the Import/Export libraries.
The Import
Scrap dialog box reappears with a list of the file formats you can import.
6. Select the format (TIFF, PCX, WordPerfect, or other) of the image you are
importing.
7. Click on Import and click on OK.
A message asks you to insert the diskette
with the file you wish to import. It may take several seconds for the image
or text to be imported and placed in the scrapbook.
8. Insert the diskette with the file you wish to import and click on OK.
Saving and Exiting from Scrapbook
If you have made changes or additions to your Default Scrapbook and
want to make the changes permanent, you can do this by saving your
document without renaming it.
When you are finished using Scrapbook, you should exit. You should save
your document before exiting, but if you forget, Scrapbook gives you one
last chance to save your changes.
When you import from
WordPerfect 5.0 into Scrapbook,
the font size changes from 12 pt.
to 8 pt.
Look at the last three letters of
the file name to determine what
type of file format it has. This will
tell you which format to choose
from the Import Scrap dialog box.
If the file is very large, it could
take several minutes to import.
You cannot interrupt this
process.
