Using Shortcut Keys to Save Time and Work
Shortcut keys
are keystrokes you can use to perform actions. Using a
shortcut key has the same effect as pulling down a menu and selecting a
menu choice. If you are familiar with using a keyboard, you may find that
using shortcut keys speeds up your work.
Ensemble uses two types of shortcut keys: the
function
keys across the
top of the keyboard, and
control
key combinations (they control" the
effect of the key used with them) using
CODE
,
SHIFT
, or
MENU
.
To select a menu choice by using a shortcut key:
1. Open the menu to see if the choice you want has a shortcut key. Close
the menu.
2. Press the shortcut key or press the key combination by holding down
the control key and pressing the character key.
This has the sameeffect
as selecting a menu choice using the mouse.
