System Care & Maintenance
WARNING:
Do not try to take apart or repair this equipment yourself. Service
should be performed by authorized Brother service personnel only.
Warranty will be voided if you take the unit apart.
In case of malfunction, immediately unplugthe equipment and consult
your dealer.
Do not pull on the power cords. To disconnect, be sure to always grasp the
plugitself.
Avoid exposingthe equipment to direct sunlight and other sources of heat,
excessive moisture, or dust.
If you spill liquid onto the equipment, immediately unplugit and consult
your Brother Service Center.
Do not use sprays in the vicinity of the Ensemble system. Aerosols are
extremely harmful to the disk drive.
Unplugthe equipment duringthunderstorms.
Do not place heavy objects on the keyboard.
Keep the back and sides clear of obstructions to prevent overheating.
Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the equipment (don't use chemicals, solvents
or detergents).
To avoid electrical interference, do not place the Ensemble system close to
a radio receiver or television. If the Ensemble system is close to a television
set, the disk drive may not work properly and diskettes may be damaged.
To avoid electrical interference, make sure that the disk drive openingon
the Ensemble main unit is at least 8" from AC adaptor and 6" from monitor.
Do not place AC adaptor beside or behind monitor.
After turningthe equipment OFF, wait at least 10 seconds before restarting.
Failure to wait 10 seconds may disrupt the start-up sequence, resultingin
faulty operation and possible hardware damage.
Keep diskettes away from magnetic fields. Documents on the diskette can
be damaged.
Do not turn the Ensemble unit off while printing.
Check that the ink-jet cartridge (under the top cover) has moved back to
itsright-most position before you turn the power off. If you notice that the
cartridge has not moved to its right-most position, turn the power on
again. The cartridge should now be correctly positioned and you can turn
the power off.
Never try to manually move the ink-jet cartridge from side to side while it is
in the Ensemble printer.
Do not use correction fluid on any paper you insert into the printer.

power rating of this
product on the rating
plate as well as the rating
of your local power
supply. Connect this
machine only to a
matching power supply
and grounded AC outlet.
Connecting this product
to an incorrect voltage
and frequency may
interfere with its
operation and damage
electrical parts, and
thereby void your
manufacturer’s warranty.
