Using Scroll Bars
When a box is too small to display all available information, scroll bars
let you view complete lists or messages.
Figure 2-2
shows a sample list
box with scroll bars.

Scroll bars are horizontal or vertical areas that contain scroll boxes. In
the example above, scroll boxes are the white area. These boxes indicate
whether the scroll bar is active: scroll boxes change size to reflect the
proportion of material that the window displays. The example above
shows active and inactive scroll bars:
•
The vertical scroll bar is active. The scroll box fills about
one third of the available space, indicating that there is more
information.
•
The horizontal scroll bar is inactive. The scroll box fills the bar,
indicating that complete information is displayed.
