Annex Manager User Guide
Chapter 11 Assigning Remote Addresses
11-2
Part 2 Setup Mode
Understanding the Remote Address Window
The
Remote Address
window uses the
First Remote Address
and
Subnet Mask
fields to enter and display information. The
Last Remote Address
field
displays the last remote address; you cannot enter text here.
•
First Remote Address
assigns the first IP address of the entire
range of ports or channels for the selected Annex. If this field
displays
0.0.0.0,
all addresses in the range of ports or channels
are 0.0.0.0
.
If any of the values set for individual ports or channels using
other methods (
admin
,
na
, or Customized mode) are non-
consecutive, this field and the
Last Remote Address
field are
blank.
If you change the
First Remote Address
and click
Apply
, the IP
address you entered is assigned to the first port or channel of
the Annex you selected in the main window. Subsequent ports
or channels are then assigned IP addresses numbered
consecutively after the first address (if you enter 0.0.0.0, all IP
addresses in the range are assigned this value). For 5399
devices, IP addresses are assigned consecutively beginning
with the first channel of the first WAN Module and ending with
the last channel of the second WAN Module.
For information about
Address Assignment
, see Chapter 7, Setting
Asynchronous Port Values and Chapter 9, Setting Call Default Values.
