Understanding the Security Window
The
Security
window divides settings into
Incoming
,
Outgoing
,
Host Access
,
and
VCLI
categories.
•
The
Incoming
box controls security for incoming ports and
allows you to select a PPP security setting.
The
On
and
Off
buttons for
Modem Ports, Non-modem Ports
, and
WAN Calls
set security for the Annexes you selected in the main
window. If you select
On
, Annex Manager activates the ACP
security server, including security for AppleTalk, CLI, IPX, and
SLIP/PPP connections for the ports or calls you selected.
Modem Ports
and
Non-modem Ports
do not apply for ISDN
Primary Rate Annexes.
WAN Calls
does not apply for
Annexes with asynchronous ports.
•
The
PPP Security Protocol
box defines the security check that the
Annex requires before it starts the network control protocol.
You can select:

request password authentication if the peer rejects
