MODULATION (correction of measured values with modulated 
signals)

When the power of wide-band modulated signals is measured, the envelope power varies in the rhythm
of the modulation. This may cause systematic deviations for all measurement functions (

AVG

,

 PEP

,

 CF

,

CCDF

). With NRT-Z43/44 sensors, these deviations can be reduced considerably if the properties of the

signal can be taken into account during measurement data processing.

The 

MODULATION

 menu allows parameters to be entered that are transferred to the sensor and taken

into account, e.g. the type of communication standard.

Notes: 

The deviations which can be compensated with the command group 

CORRection

- MODULATION

 are proportional to power for the AVG and AV.BRST functions.

Since they are only a few per cent at nominal power (30 W for NRT-Z43, 120 W for
NRT-Z44), the modulation correction will practically have no effect at much lower
power values, i.e. below approx. 10 W for NRT-Z44.

To enable the measurement value correction for the 

PEP

tions, the video bandwidth of the sensor must not be restricted (use setting "

 submenu for the quoted measurement functions).

Entry of the chip rate for WCDMA signals

In contrast to other communication standards WCDMA is not based on a fixed RF bandwidth but on a
bandwidth which varies according to the chip rate selected. This means that, if the standard "WCDMA"
is selected, the chip rate must be entered in addition (this is possible up to a maximum value of 8.2
