2.1.6.2 Zeroing
The NRT provides user-controlled zeroing for all types of sensors. Zeroing enhances the accuracy for
measuring low power or low mismatch by reducing the zero error. The zero error is an additive error
which may be caused by the electronic circuitry and thermal effects, such as screwing the sensor to a
hot RF connector.
To perform zeroing, proceed as follows:
Switch off RF signal!
CORR
Press this menu key.
Press cursor key; the display
shows:
LOCAL
SEL
Press this input key; zeroing
runs for approx. 4 s.
Thereupon the NRT automatically returns to the measurement mode.

Increasing the Measurement Accuracy for Modulated Signals
When the power of wide-band modulated signals is measured, the envelope power varies in the rhythm
of the modulation. This may cause systematic deviations for all measurement functions (
AVG
,
PEP
,
CF
,
CCDF
). With NRT-Z43/44 sensors, these deviations can be reduced considerably if the properties of the
signal can be taken into account during measurement data processing.
To this end, press the
CORR
key, select the
MODULATION
menu and enter the used standard (see
also Section 2.4.3). To enable the measurement value correction for the
PEP
,
CF,
and
CCDF
functions,
the video bandwidth of the sensor must not be restricted (use setting "
FULL
" in the
VID.BW
submenu
for the quoted measurement functions).
