1.4.3  Manual Start/Stop of Battery Charging

Charging can be started any time manually or via the remote-control interfaces. It should be carried out
whenever the NRT is to be operated without AC supply over a longer period and there is no possibility of
recharging the battery during this period. Charging can be manually started via the UTILity menu as
follows:

UTIL

Press the menu key

Press the cursor key repeat-
edly until the charge menu is
displayed.

Press the cursor key  to shift
the underscore to the right.
ON is selected and the under-
score is blinking.

LOCAL

SEL

Press the input key to confirm
the setting ON. Charging
starts. The NRT returns to the
measurement mode.

Charging is automatically completed as soon as the battery is fully charged. It can however be stopped
prematurely by selecting OFF in the charge menu or by switching off the NRT via the ON / STBY key.

Occasional charging of partly discharged batteries does not cause any damage. Fully charged batteries
should however not be recharged repeatedly as this may cause damage in the long run.

It may sometimes be useful that the NRT automatically switches off after charging. This setting is se-
lected via the UTIL menu:

Press the entry key to confirm
the OFF setting. The NRT will
then automatically switch off
after charging.
