 menu allows to set the integration time for the A/D-converters in NRT-Z sen-

sors.

USER (Entry of a User-Defined Integration Time)

In order to obtain a stable power indication in the operating modes 

AVG

 and 

AV.BRST (USER)

, signals

which are modulated or keyed at low frequency might require the integration time to be increased be-
yond the default value set. The best choice consists in setting the integration time equal to the period of
the envelope modulation. Low-frequency envelope modulation can also occur for digitally modulated
radio signals: it is caused by the so-called idle bursts which are regularly (about all 60 ms for GSM) in-
serted into the transmitted signal.

Reducing the integration time will slightly increase the speed for triggered measurements provided that
the measurement power is high enough to prevent automatic averaging of the results. If averaging takes
place in the default setting already (in order to stabilize the indication for small powers), further reduction
of the integration time will usually result in an automatic enhancement of the averaging factor so that, on
the whole, no gain in the measurement speed can be achieved.
