5.2.2.2 Keypad

Test

Preparation:

Select the function parameter KEY in the UTIL - TEST menu.

Test:

Press all keys, except for the ON/STBY key, successively.

The designation of each key pressed should be shown on the display. The test is
completed if one and the same key is pressed twice.

5.2.2.3

Acoustic Signal Device

Preparation:

Switch on signal device in the UTIL - BEEPER menu (ON).

Test:

Pressing any key should be acoustically confirmed.

5.2.2.4 Memory

Test

Preparation:

Select the function parameter MEM in the UTIL - TEST menu.

After each successfully carried out test step, <tested memory> ’OK’ should be
displayed.

5.2.3 Remote

Control

The interfaces are checked by means of a communication test between the NRT and the PC connected.
The DUT should respond to the message sent by the PC by returning a string containing the identifica-
tion data of the NRT.

Measuring equipment: Process controller (Table 5-1, Ref. No. 10)

5.2.3.1

IEC/IEEE BUS (IEC625 / IEEE488 Interface)

Preparation:

Connect the IEC625/IEEE488 interfaces of the NRT and the controller via the
IEC/IEEE-bus cable.

Activate the IEC / IEEE bus interface on the NRT in the UTIL- REMOTE menu and
set the IEC / IEEE address to 12.

Test:

Send *IDN? from the controller to address 12 and read out the response string of
the NRT.

The response string should contain the following information:

‘ROHDE & SCHWARZ,NRT<Var>,<Ser_No>,<Firmware_Vers._No>’
