LOWER RINSE
SOLENOID
Solenoid
. Operates a valve which sends DI water to a spray manifold
that sprays the bottom of the wafer. This solenoid operates in
conjunction with the LOWER RINSE DRIP SOLENOID. When the
LOWER RINSE DRIP SOLENOID is open, and the LOWER RINSE
SOLENOID is open, DI water sprays on the wafer. When the LOWER
RINSE DRIP SOLENOID is closed, and the LOWER RINSE
SOLENOID is open, DI water drips from the manifold to prevent
contamination. Both valves turn OFF during the spin dry cycle.
Icon Status:
Icon is
green
when the rinse valve is OPEN and
red
when
the valve is CLOSED.
LOWER RINSE DRIP
SOLENOID
Solenoid
. The LOWER RINSE SOLENOID is the main valve. When it is
OFF, the LOWER RINSE DRIP SOLENOID has no effect. When it is
open, DI water flows unrestricted to the bottom spray nozzles to rinse
the processing wafers. When the valve is closed, a manual valve
controls the flow of a small amount of DI water through the lower
rinse manifold (keeps the water “fresh” or free of bacterial
contamination). Both valves turn OFF during the Spin dry cycle.
Icon Status:
Icon is
green
when the valve is OPEN so water rinses the
wafer and
red
when CLOSED, dripping water from the lower rinse
manifold.
SPINDLE S1 SOLENOID
Solenoid
. S1 solenoid operates two pneumatic cylinders which work
in conjunction with the S2 solenoid to control the positioning of the
spindle shaft. The following are solenoid activity combinations and
the resulting spindle position.
S1 and S2 OFF - Spindle is at the BOTTOM.
S1 is ON and S2 is OFF - Spindle is at MID.
S1 and S2 are ON - Spindle is at the TOP.
Icon Status:
Icon is
green
when the solenoid is ON and
red
when the
solenoid is OFF.
SPINDLE LOCK
SOLENOID
Solenoid
. Operates a locking device that secures the spindle HOME
position, allowing the carriage to move in without interference from
the spindle fingers.
Icon Status:
Icon is
green
when the spindle lock is activated (locked)
and
red
when the spindle lock is deactivated (unlocked).
B
CAUTION:
Do not activate the carriage to move to the
IN position, if the spindle is not locked in place and the
spindle is not in the MID position.
