If the communication link is established, the
COMMUNICATIONS
STATUS
: box displays “Communicating.” If no link occurs in the set
time limit, the box (circled in the illustration above) displays “Disabled.”
The ENABLE status does not automatically place the system online
with the host system, it simply establishes that both systems are ON
(active) and able to communicate.
ONLINE Button
The ONLINE button is a switch that toggles between ONLINE and
OFFLINE. This button establishes the initial control state. It tells the
factory host that the control and communication link is being
established between the two systems. The host system must
acknowledge with a signal indicating that it is ready for the
CONTROL STATUS
link.
If the attempt fails to setup the ONLINE status, the CONTROL
STATUS: box displays either Equipment Offline or Host Offline .
This tells which system failed to complete the communication link.
REMOTE Button
The REMOTE button is a switch that toggles between REMOTE and
LOCAL. If the button reads REMOTE, it is currently in the LOCAL
status and vice versa. The REMOTE/LOCAL button sets the
CONTROL STATUS for the system. When the system is in the
REMOTE status, the factory host is controlling the activity of the
Integra as established by the process engineer. When the system is in
the LOCAL status, the Integra is controlling its activity and
exchanging information with the host system.
