4. MCPMs
Overview
The MCPM-HD and -HD2 both have a 2-slot wing that accepts one or two SWB router output
cards. The output cards have little or nothing to do with master control. These MCPMs provide two
16-output crosspoints for the multi-format router that might optionally occupy the frame. The out-
put cards connect to the wing and not to the motherboard.
The MCPM-HD does not have control over its wing output cards. The MCPM-HD2 has some con-
trol over its wing output cards. In the MCPM-HD2, wing outputs 1–16 (in wing slot 1) can be indi-
vidually configured:
• To be controlled only by the router control card. (This is the default setting.)
• To follow (i.e, emit) program main video.

• To follow (i.e, emit) preset main video.

Wing outputs 17–32 (in wing slot 2) cannot be configured. They are controlled only by the router
output card.

If you have an SWB output card (NV5000-HD-OUT) in a wing slot, you must also have an
SWB output backplane (IO5000-HD-OUT) in the corresponding backplane slot.

The newer SWB output cards (NV5100MC-SWB-OUT) do not go in the wing slots. Do not use
the newer SWB backplanes (IO5100MC-SWB-OUT) with the wing slots either.

MasterConfig’s ‘Wing Output’ page erroneously includes two aux bus options for wing out-
puts. The MCPM-HD2 has no aux bus. These options do nothing.
2. The main video output is unproces sed original video. It does not contain video effects applied by the MCPM .
