6. Control Panels

Overview

The FECP’s touchscreen is large and has 8 menu knobs. The CECP has a joystick for fine visual
control over certain video effects and for scrolling. The menu has a “live audio levels” display.

The FECP supports the MCE’s preview and aux buses, and provides control over enhanced squee-
zeback parameters such as border width and color, and dual-image squeezeback.

The FECP has a TLA connector but its TLA support is still undeveloped.

The FECP has a metering input that feeds the “Live Levels” display.

The FECP has an audio monitoring/metering control section that has 12 configurable buttons.

CECP GUI

This new software control panel executes on a PC and the user interface emulates the hardware of
the CECP. The GUI is designed so that it can run on a PC with a touchscreen.

The GUI’s menu area is large and has 8 buttons that function as menu “knobs.”

The GUI supports the MCE’s preview and aux buses, and provides control over enhanced squeeze-
back parameters such as border width and color, and dual-image squeezeback.

Aux/Preview GUI

This new software control panel is a configuration option of the CECP GUI, mentioned above. It
also executes on a PC and provides a subset of the features of the CECP GUI. This GUI is also
designed so that it can run on a PC with a touchscreen.

The GUI’s menu area is large and has 8 buttons that function as menu “knobs.” It has fewer menus
than the CECP GUI.

The GUI supports the MCE’s preview and aux buses only. Its program and preset buttons are dis-
abled.
