Other General Features
This example shows hypothetical connections for one key source port:
Squeezeback Source Connections
External squeeze sources reach the frame through 2 ports. One port is for background images; the
other is for “image 2” sources under enhanced squeezeback.
S
Enhanced squeezeback is available only in the MCPM-SDHD and MCE.
S
External squeeze sources always go through the ports assigned to external squeeze sources,
even when the squeeze sources are configured as main sources. This applies to squeeze back-
grounds and to squeeze image 2.
Audio Over Source Connections
Like external main sources, external over sources reach the frame through two ports, designated A
and B. The designations are not important and serve only to distinguish one port from the other.
There are 2 ports because there are 2 buses, preset and program.
Each port comprises 5 input connectors and a router destination. A connector is a BNC, a Phoenix
3-pin STP, or a 3-pin STP cluster on a DB25. The first 4 connectors are for discrete audio; the fifth
connector supports embedded audio (and it is actually a video connector).
The router destination (defined in the NV9000 configuration for the purpose of supplying a master
control system) provides audio on one or more virtual levels.
GPI Outputs
The MCPM’s two GPI output are SPDT relays (24VDC, 100mA). Connections to the relay termi-
nals are present on the MCPM’s aux connector. The Mixer/Keyers (MCPM-MK-SD and -MK-HD)
provide COM and NO connections; other MCPMs provide COM, NO, and NC connections.
The MCPM can be configured so that when certain conditions are met, the MCPM activates the
output relay
—
triggering the device that you have connected to the outputs (e.g., a cart machine).
(Activation means that the NO-COM circuit closes and the NC-COM circuit opens.)
There are 7 ways a GPI output can be configured:
1 Disabled. The GPI output is “off.” (COM and NO are disconnected.)
2 Controlled from UI. Enables manual control from a control panel.
Use MasterUIConfig to assign a GPI output to a configurable panel button. (The button is a tog-
gle. Pressing the button once activates the MPCM’s GPI relay. Pressing it again relaxes the
relay.)
3 Video Effect Status.
