5. MCEs
Structure
The preview card is required for a preview bus and its preview functions. Presently there is only
one preview output and that is preview output A. Preview output B is not operational and the B out-
put connector simply presents a copy of preview output A.
The preview bus , unlike the program and preset buses, does not perform non-sync bypass path.
The preview button row of the CECP, CECP GUI, or FECP control panels corresponds to the pre-
view bus of the MCE.

A panel’s preview button row is disabled unless the panel is controlling an MCE.

The CECP M1 does not have a preview button row.
Aux Bus
The MCE’s aux bus (not referring to the aux button row on a panel) is really a multiplexer that is set
at configuration time. The MCE has two aux outputs, A and B, both identical. They can be set inde-
pendently.
These are the aux bus options. Each aux bus can be configured with one of these settings:
• Aux Bus A (Panel Control)
The aux output (A or B, whichever you choose) carries the main source chosen on the control
panel’s aux button row when the panel operator presses the “Aux A” delegate button.
• Aux Bus B (Panel Control)
The aux output (A or B, whichever one you choose) carries the main source chosen on the con-
trol panel’s aux button row when the panel operator presses the “Aux B” delegate button.
• Program Video
The aux output (A or B, whichever one you choose) carries the video and audio of the main
source(s) chosen on the control panel’s program bus.
Under breakaway, the aux audio output still comes from the
video source.
• Preset Video
The aux output (A or B, whichever one you choose) carries the video and audio of the main
source(s) chosen on the control panel’s preset bus.
Under breakaway, the aux audio output still comes from the
video source.
• Program Audio
The aux output (A or B, whichever one you choose) carries the video and audio of the main
source(s) chosen on the control panel’s program bus.
