4. MCPMs

Overview

MCPM-HD, -HD2

The MCPM-HD and -HD2 are 4-slot modules. Each of these processes high definition (HD) video.
The MCPM-HD2 is an improved version of the -HD.

The MCPM-HD (and -HD2) receives video and audio input from the frame’s motherboard

up to

64 video sources on inputs 1–64 and 64 stereo (128 mono) sources on inputs 65–128, or a combina-
tion thereof, in multiples of 16 sources. Video sources may contain embedded audio. The MCPM-
HD and -HD2 provide 3 video keyers, 2 logo keyers, 1 squeezeback layer, and 2 audio overs. These
MCPMs accept optional Dolby E decoders.

The MCPM-HD has a backup battery and a “low battery” indicator. The MCPM-HD2 does not.

At the backplane, the MCPM-HD and -HD2 also have 4 discrete AES program outputs. The back-
planes also have 5 emergency bypass inputs, one video (with or without embedded audio) and 4
AES inputs. The MCPM-HD and -HD2 both have 8 analog audio outputs in addition to audio meter
and monitor outputs.

The MCPM-HD and -HD2 both Ethernet (control) and RS-422 (automation) connections. (An
additional 10BaseT port is unused.) The aux connector has time-code inputs and Dolby metadata
outputs in addition to GPI and relay contacts.
