5. MCEs
Structure
The audio meter output can connect to a metering input of a CECP, CECP M1, or FECP control
panel. You may connect the meter output to any metering system. Again, the metering system must
disembed the audio.
S
CECP/FECP “live level” metering is still undergoing development. The CECP and FECP each
have one metering input; the CECP M1 has two metering inputs. A metering input does not
necessarily have to connect to an MCE. If you have multiple MCEs, you might need a multi-
plexer or router (but not a disembedder) to connect to the CECP, CECP M1, or FECP.
The Ethernet, automation, and DB25 connectors are similar to those of the MCPM-SDHD. See
Core Connectors
on page 185.
The 1.0/2.3 connectors are spaced to allow 1694A cable.
The video reference is always internally terminated (75
Ω
).
Monitor, meter, and aux outputs are audio (embedded). Each connector supplies 16 embedded
audio channels.
Program, preset, and emergency bypass connectors function as for other MCPMs, but embed 16
audio channels.
Preview Card
The preview board is optional. The board implements the preview bus, to which a panel’s preview
buttons correspond.
The preview bus allows operators to examine video sources independently, applying video effects
and audio overs at will, without affecting program content or interfering with automation.
