show mac-address-table multicast

This command displays the Multicast Forwarding Database (MFDB) information. If you enter the command with no
parameter, the entire table is displayed. You can display the table entry for one MAC Address by specifying the MAC
address as an optional parameter. 

2.26.4

show mac-address-table stats

This command displays the Multicast Forwarding Database (MFDB) statistics. 

Term

Definition

Forwarding DB ID

Fdbid (Forwarding database ID) indicates the forwarding database whose aging timeout is to 

be shown. The all option is used to display the aging timeouts associated with all forwarding 

databases. This field displays the forwarding database ID in an IVL system. 

Agetime

•

In an IVL system, this parameter displays the address aging timeout for the associated 

forwarding database.

show mac-address-table multicast

Definition

MAC Address

A multicast MAC address for which the switch has forwarding and or filtering information. The 

format is two-digit hexadecimal numbers separated by colons, for example 

01:23:45:67:89:AB. In an IVL system the MAC address will be displayed as a MAC address 

and VLAN ID combination of 8 bytes. 

Type

The type of the entry. Static entries are those that are configured by the end user. Dynamic 

entries are added to the table as a result of a learning process or protocol.

Component

The component that is responsible for this entry in the Multicast Forwarding Database. 

Possible values are IGMP Snooping, GMRP, and Static Filtering.

Description

The text description of this multicast table entry.

Interfaces

The list of interfaces that are designated for forwarding (Fwd:) and filtering (Flt:).

Forwarding 

Interfaces

The resultant forwarding list is derived from combining all the component’s forwarding 

interfaces and removing the interfaces that are listed as the static filtering interfaces.

The total number of entries that can possibly be in the Multicast Forwarding Database table.

Most MFDB Entries 

Ever Used

The largest number of entries that have been present in the Multicast Forwarding Database

The current number of entries in the MFDB.
