If the rear cylinder
has not beer,
serviced, be gir
here.
If both camshafts
have been serviced,
begin installation o f
the front camshaft.
If the front cylinder
has not been
serviced, begin
here.
FRONT CYLINDER TDC SETTING
R e m o v e th e re a r c y lin d e r h e a d uuver (p a g e 9-G) and
check th e re a r c y lin d e r c a m s h a ft p o s itio n as fo llo w s :
T u rn th e c ra n k s h a ft c lo c k w is e and a lig n th e "RT"
m a rk on th e fly w h e e l w ith th e in d e x n otch on th e
a lte rn a to r co ver.
T h e n check th e id e n tific a tio n m ark "R" on th e re a r
c a m s h a ft.
- If th e "R" m a rk faces u p, tu rn th e c ran ksh aft
c lo c k w is e 1 -1 6 /4 5 (4 8 8 °) tu rn (alig n th e "FT" m a rk
o n th e fly w h e e l w ith th e in d ex notch) an d b egin
in s ta lla tio n o f th e fro n t c am sh aft.
- If th e "R" m a rk faces d o w n (can n ot be s een ), tu rn
th e c ra n k s h a ft c lo ckw ise 16'45 (1 2 8 °) tu rn (alig n
th e “F T ' m a rk w ith th e in d ex n o tc h ) a n d b egin
in s ta lla tio n o f th e fro n t c am sh aft.
Install th e fro n t c a m s h a ft (p a g e 9-30).
BOTH CYLINDER TDC SETTING

Install th e fro n t c a m s h a ft (p ag e 9-30).
S e t th e re a r c y lin d e r at T D C (p eg e 9 -2 9 ).
Install th e rear c a m s h a ft (p a g e 9-30).
