HFT

BEARING INSPECTION

Turn the inner race of the  bearing w ith your finger.
The  bearing  should turn sm oothly and quietly.
Also  check  that  the  bearing  outer  race  fit  lig h tly  in
the  right crankcase.

Remove and discard the bearing if the races do not

turn smoothly and quietly, or if it fit loosely in the

right crankcase.

BEARING REPLACEMENT

Remove the final driven gear of the side gear (page
14-23).

Remove the N/D clutch bearing using the special

tools.

Coat a new bearing w ith engine oil.

Drive a new bearing into the right crankcase with

the marked side facing up until they are fully seated.
