DTC TROUBLESHOOTING
D TC 1-1 (M A P S E N S O R L O W

1. MAP Sensor System Inspection
T urn the ig n itio n sw itch ON and engine stop
sw itch " O "•
Check the MAP sensor w ith the HDS pocket
tester.
Is a b o u t 0 V o r b e lo w indicated ?
YES - G O TO STEP 2.
NO - • In te rm itte n t fa ilu re
• Loose o r poor contact on the MAP
sensor connector
2. MAP Sensor Input Voltage Inspection
Turn the ign tio n sw itch OFF.
D isconnect the MAP sensor 3P (Black) connec­
to r.
Turn the ig n itio n sw itch ON and engine stop
sw itch " O "•
M easure the vo lta g e at the w ire harness side.
Connection: Yellow/red (+) - Green/orange (-)
Is th e voltage w ith in 4.75 - 5.25 V?
YES - G O TO STEP 4.
NO - G O TO STEP 3.
MAP SENSOR 3P (BLACK) CONNECTOR

3. MAP Sensor Input Line Inspection
Turn th e ig n itio n sw itch OFF.
D isconnect the ECM 33P connectors.
Check fo r co n tin u ity at the Y ellow /red w ire
betw een the MAP sensor 3P (Black) connector
te rm in a l and the ECM 33P (Black) connector.
Connection: A9 - Yellow/red
TOOL:
Test probe

Is th e re c o n tin u ity ?
YES - Replace the ECM w ith a know n good
one, and recheck.
NO - Open c irc u it in Y e llo w /re d w ire
4. MAP Sensor Output Line Short Circuit Inspec­
tion
Check fo r co n tin u ity betw een the MAP sensor 3P
(Black) c o n re c to r te rm in a l o f the w ire harness
side and ground.
Connection: Light green/yellow - ground
Is th e re c o n tin u ity ?
YES - S hort c ircu it in Light g re e n /ye llo w w ire
NO - G O TO STEP 5.
ECM 33P (BLACK) CONNECTOR
