Do not allow the

piston cup lips to

turn inside out.

HYDRAULIC BRAKE

NOTE:

Replace the piston, spring, cups, washer and snap
ring as a set.

Coat the master cylinder inner surface, master pis

ton and piston cups w ith clean brake fluid.

Install the primary cup onto the tip of the spring.
Install the secordary cup to the master piston.

Install the spring/prim ary cup and master piston
into the master cylinder.

Apply silicone grease to the push rod boot fitting
area.

Install the push rod assembly into the master cylin

der and snap ring into the groove in the master cyl
inder using a special tool.

TOOL:

Snap ring pliers

• Install the snap ring w ith the chamfered edges

facing the thrust load side.

• Check that the snap ring is seated in the groove.

Apply silicone grease to the boot inner surface

Install the boot into the master cylinder and the
push rod groove.

Apply brake fluid to a new O-ring and install it onto
the reservoir hose joint.

Install the reservoir hose jo in t into the master cylin

der.

Install the snap ring into the groove in the master

cylinder.
