4. N/D Select Sw itch Line Short Circuit Inspection

Check for continuity between the right handlebar

switch

P (Gray) connector terminal of the main

wire harness side and ground.

Connection: W hite/yellow - Ground

W hite/blue - Ground

Is there c o n tin u ity ?

YES

- • Short circuit in White/blue wire

• Short circuit in W hite/yellow wire

- Replace the TCM with a new one, and

recheck (HFT initialization procedure:
page 11-93).

DTC 42-1 (SHIFT SWITCH)

• Before starting the troubleshooting, check the

right  handlebar  switch  connector  and  TCM  con
nector  for  loose  contact  or  corroded  terminals,
and  recheck the DTC.

1. S hift Sw itch Inspection

Turn the ignition switch OFF.

Disconnect the left handlebar switch 3P (Gray)

connector.

Check  for  continuity  at  the  switch  side  left  han
dlebar  switch  3P  (Gray)  connector  term inals  in
each  switch  position.

Connection: (+) position:

Black/blue -  W hite/yellow
(-)  position:
Black/blue -  W hite/blue

Is there c o n tin u ity ?

YES

- GO TO STEP 2.

- Faulty shift switch.

2. S hift Sw itch input Voltage Inspection

Turn the ignition switch ON and engine stop

switch " O " .

Measure the voltage between the left handlebar

switch 3P (Gray) connector terminal of the main

wire harness side and ground.

Connection: Black/blue (+) - Ground (-)

Is th e vo lta g e w ith in 4.75 - 5.25 V?

YES

- GO TO STEP 3.

- Open circuit in Black/blue wire. If Black/

blue w ire is normal, replace the TCM

w ith a new one, and recheck (HFT ini

tialization procedure: page 11-93).
