HYDRAULIC BRAKE

Do not use high

pressure a ir o r b ring

the nozzle too close

the inlet.

Be careful not tc

damage the pistor.

sliding surface.

Place a shop tow el o ver the pistons.
Position the caliper body with the piston facing

dow n and apply small squirts of air pressure to the

fluid inlet to rem ove the pistons.

NOTE:

M ark the pistons to ensure correct reassem bly.

Push the dust and piston seals in and lift them out.

Clean the seal grooves, caliper cylinders and pis

tons w ith clean brake fluid.

INSPECTION

Check the caliper cylinders and pistons fo r scoring,

scratches or dam age.

M easure the right caliper cylinder I.D.

SERVICE LIMITS: 22.712 mm (0.8942 in)

M easure the left caliper cylinder I.D.

SERVICE LIMITS: Upper: 22.712 mm (0.8942 in)

Center: 25.462 mm (1.0042 in)

Lower: 22.712 mm (0.8942 in)

M easure the right caliper piston O.D.

SERVICE LIMITS: 22.560 mm (0.8882 in)

M easure the left caliper piston O.D.

SERVICE LIMITS: Upper: 22.560 mm (0.8882 in)

Center: 25.310 mm (0.9965 in)

Lower: 22.560 mm (0.8882 in)
