IGNITION SYSTEM INSPECTION
NOTE:
• If no spark jum ps at the plug, check all connec­
tions for loose or poor contact before m easuring
the peak voltage.
• Use a com m ercially available digital m ultim eter
w ith an im pedance of 10 M H /D C V m inim um .
• The display value differs depending upon the
internal im pedance of the m ultim eter.
• If the Im rie diagnostic tester (m odel 625) is used,
fo llo w the m anufacturer's instruction.
Connect the peak voltage adaptor to th e digital
m u ltim e te r or use the peak voltage tester.
TOOLS:
Imrie diagnostic tester (model 625) or
Peak voltage adaptor 07HGJ-0020100
w ith commercially available digital m ultim eter
(impedance 10 M Q /D C V minimum)

NOTE:
• Check all system connections before perform ing
this inspection. Loose connectors can cause
incorrect readings.
• Check that the cylinder com pression is norm al
fo r each cylinder and the spark plugs are
installed correctly in each cylinder head.
Disconnect all spark plug caps from the spark plugs.
Connect know n-good spark plugs to all spark plug
caps and ground them to the cylinder heads as
done in a spark test.
