Using the Capacitor Discharge Tool

6. Continue holding the probes on the points indicated for at least 30 seconds 

after the neon lamp is no longer lit.

WARNING

SHOCK HAZARD.

 Do not assume the capacitor is discharged if the neon lamp does 

not light! There may still be a charge on the capacitor. Do not touch capacitor 
terminals until completing the discharge operation.
