Verify the following:
1.
That power is switched on in the 3490 Tape Unit Rack:
v
Set the 3490 Rack Unit Emergency Power Off switch to the On
position.
v
Ensure that the 3490 Rack Enable/Off switch is set to the Enable
position.
v
Press the 3490 Rack Power On button.
2.
Verify the following on 3490 Tape Unit:
v
The Channel Enable/Disable switches are set to the Enable position.
v
The Normal/Test switch is set to the Normal position.
v
The CU Online/Offline switch is set to the Online position.
v
The Drive Address Online/Offline switches are set to the Online
position.
v
The Drive DC Power switches are set to the On position.
If you are attempting to perform an IPL from the device that had the error,
verify that the drive control unit address switch has an address of
hexadecimal 7 and the drive unit address switch has an address of 0.
Use the 3490 Tape Unit service information to continue analyzing the
problem.
