About 4K Conversion

MatchDef Quad Link

When a 4K stream is input to the switcher

and

the Frame Operating Mode is set to a 4K

format, it will be highlighted in the menu by the

Quad Link

label and a blue bracket under

the four inputs. This means the four inputs are linked to the 4K signal.

SetDef Merge and Branch

A SetDef

Branch

Merge

is performed during conversion based on the Frame Operating

Mode. For example, if the Frame Operating Mode is set to 1080p, the 1080p stream will be

upscaled to 4K—four 3G 1080p streams. This is highlighted in the menu by the word

Branch

and a blue bracket under the four physical outputs.

Conversely, if the Frame Operating Mode is set to 4K 2SI, the four 3G 1080p streams are

merged into one 1080p stream. This is highlighted in the menu by the

Merge

label along

with a blue bracket under the four physical outputs.

Note:

2160p signals are received and transmitted as a single 12G-SDI

stream.
