Dialing in From Outside the Enterprise
Dialing in without being registered to a Cisco Gatekeeper
The feature enables dialing through a TANDBERG Gatekeeper without being
registered to it. This makes it easy to call in from a video system outside the
enterprise.
It's done by dialing:
EndPointAlias@GatekeeperAddress[:Port]
where:
•
EndPointAlias
: is the alias of the endpoint you want to call, the endpoint you
call must be registered with this alias on the gatekeeper
•
GatekeeperAddress
: is either the IP-address of the gatekeeper in the form
a.b.c.d (or IPv6 a:b:c:d:a:b:c:d) or the DNS name (A/AAAA or SRV record) of the
gatekeeper.
•
Port
: is optional and gives the Q.931 port to initiate the call. The port default is
1720 and can in most cases be left out.
If using an IP-address, or if not specifying the port, the default is using the normal
Q.931 with port 1720.
NOTE!
To be able to make such a call, this feature must be enabled in your
gatekeeper or border controller, and the called endpoint must be registered with
the enterprise gatekeeper or border controller.
