Managing Remote Access Concentrators Using Annex Manager
Nameserver Box
The
Nameserver
box defines a type of name service and host addresses:
•
Preferred Service
defines the type of name service used with the
Nameserver
box
Preferred Host
field. You can select
none
,
dns
, or
ien_116.
•
Alternate Service
defines the type of name service used with the
Nameserver
box
Alternate Host
field. The RAC uses this service
and host when the service specified in the
Preferred Service
field
is not available. You can select
none
,
dns
, or
ien_116.
•
Preferred Host
contains a host address for the
Preferred Service
you selected.
•
Alternate Host
contains a host address for the
Alternate Service
you selected.
Time Box
The
Time
box controls the time server host:
•
Host
lists the IP address that a RAC queries for time service.
You can enter:
–
A loopback address (127.0.0.1) to disable time service queries.
–
A host address to send queries to a specific host.
–
A broadcast address to send queries to a specific network or
networks instead of sending a general broadcast to all
networks.
–
0.0.0.0 to direct the RAC to query the boot host.
Logging Box
The
Logging
box specifies a log host for the RACs you selected.
Host
contains an IP address for the host that logs RAC messages. If you enter
0.0.0.0
, the RAC broadcasts its log messages.
