PiXtend V2 -L- Hardware Manual

Warning!

If the jumper "PI_5V" is in the "ON" position, the Raspberry Pi must not
be connected to another power supply.

Possible fault currents between the two power supplies may cause
malfunctions, overheating of components or their defect!

If you want to supply the Raspberry Pi with its own separate power supply, set the "PI_5V"
switch to "OFF".

However, for the sake of simplicity we recommend using only one power supply for the
entire PiXtend V2 -L- system and setting the switch to "ON" as shown in Fig. 29.
