PiXtend V2 -L- Hardware Manual
Connection Notes
The diagram below shows the connection of consumers and devices to the PWM or digital
outputs of PiXtend.
In the software (PiXtend Linux Tools (pxdev) and CODESYS-Demoproject) you can
choose between Servo, Duty-Cycle-Universal and Frequency-Mode.
Brief description of the characteristics / operating behavior:
–
Outputs switched off (default setting - after PowerUp / Reset)
–
In
Servo Mode
: Frequency 50 Hz (20 ms), 1-2 ms "ON" time
1 ms: Minimum deflection of the servo
2 ms: Maximum deflection of the servo
–
In
Duty Cycle Mode
, the duty cycle can be freely configured for each channel. The
frequency is configured together for both channels - 16-bit PWMs common
(PWMYA & PWMYB)
–
In
Universal Mode
, the frequency and the duty cycle can be freely configured for
the A channel. The corresponding B-channel is not configurable and runs at
half the
frequency of the A-channel and with 50% duty cycle.
–
The
Frequency Mode
allows freely adjustable frequencies up to 20 kHz on all four
PWM channels. The duty cycle is always 50 %.
–
All further information on the software-sided control of the PWM outputs can be
found in the Software Manual of PiXtend V2 -L-.
