7) Remove air from Smart Syringe and attach to DyeVert T-Connector.
8) Prime manifold and all lines per normal procedure.
B. Prime DyeVert Plus EZ Module With Contrast
1) Turn manifold contrast line stopcock to aspiration position.
2) Aspirate approximately 6ml of contrast into Smart Syringe.
3)
Turn manifold contrast line stopcock to “OFF” to Smart Syringe.
4)
Turn the DyeVert stopcock to “ON” to savings position (parallel to diversion
line).
If using
“Off” Style Manifold

“On” Style Manifold
5) Inject approximately 4-5 mL of contrast through diversion line until contrast is
visible in reservoir. Ensure that all air is clear from diversion line up to the
dual check valve. Note: Air may be present beyond the dual check valve.
6) Turn contrast
stopcock “OFF” to contrast supply
C. Wirelessly Connect Disposables to Display
Note: Assemble and prime system prior to wirelessly connecting disposables

Remove battery pull tab
from the Smart Syringe by pulling the tab straight
out from the syringe plunger.
Remove battery pull tab
from the DyeVert Plus
EZ Module by pulling the tab straight out from the DyeVert Plus EZ Module
(i.e. perpendicular from the back of the Module). Do NOT hold the DyeVert
Plus EZ Module down against the table such that the pull tab is against the
table when removing the pull tab..

Select New Case
. Wirelessly connect Smart Syringe & DyeVert Plus EZ
Module to the Display by selecting the device to connect on the Monitor.
3)
Confirm wireless connection
of the Display and disposables. Following
scanning, the LEDs on the Smart Syringe & DyeVert Plus EZ Module will flash
in the same pattern as shown on the Display for proper identification.
a. Select
Yes on the Display or move the plunger of the Smart Syringe
> 2 mL
to confirm Syringe flashing.
b. Select
Yes
on the Display or press Pause Button on DyeVert Plus EZ
Module to confirm Module flashing.
Note: Selecting
No
will result in further scanning.
Note: The green LED on the device will remain on for 10 seconds when
the device is connected to the Display.
D. System Operation

Enter the physician specified threshold. If no threshold is desired, enter “0”.
ENSURE ALL PRIMING IS COMPLETED BEFORE PRESSING
Start Case.

Select Start Case
to begin contrast accounting.
2)
Contrast Injection
a.
Turn DyeVert Plus EZ Module stopcock ON
.
b.
Aspirate and inject
contrast per normal operating procedure.
Note:
Per normal injection practice, additional vessel opacity can be
achieved by increasing syringe injection speed.
3)
Contrast Accounting: Pause and Resume
The DyeVert Plus EZ Module has a Pause button
which allows the user to manually pause/resume
contrast accounting.
When the
system is in “Pause” mode, cumulative
contrast accounting is suspended.
a.
To Pause
Pause Lock Disabled/Enabled
Select
Pause
on Display or press DyeVert
Plus EZ
Module pause button. LED’s on
Smart Syringe & Module will blink yellow and
background on Display will change to yellow.
b.
To Resume
Pause Lock Disabled
Aspirate contrast into Smart Syringe (resumes automatically), select
Resume
on Display, or press DyeVert Plus EZ Module pause button.
LED’s on Smart Syringe and Module will be green for 10 seconds and
the Display will return to normal background.
Pause Lock Enabled
Select
Resume
on Display, or press DyeVert Plus EZ Module pause
button. LED’s on Smart Syringe and Module will be green for
10 seconds and the Display will return to normal background.
If contrast is injected back to the source, the system does NOT need to
be paused. The system will automatically recognize this as not being
administered to the patient.
To maintain system accuracy, the user
should ensure that only 100% contrast is injected back to the source.
Contrast Accounting Accuracy Tips:
•
Ensure system is
Paused
if contrast is not being injected to patient.
•
Ensure system is
Active
(unpaused) when contrast is being injected to
patient.
•
Ensure the minimum dwell time (1/2 second) is achieved between
aspirations of contrast and saline.
4)
Contrast Savings Bypass With Contrast Monitoring
a.
Turn DyeVert Stopcock OFF to Reservoir.
b. To resume contrast savings turn DyeVert stopcock ON.
5) DRUG ADMINISTRATION
IF DRUGS ARE TO BE ADMINISTERED TO THE PATIENT THROUGH
THE DYEVERT SYSTEM ENSURE THAT THE DYEVERT STOPCOCK
IS
OFF
TO SAVINGS. FAILURE TO TURN THE DYEVERT
