1.1.15 ipv6 address auto link-local
Syntax
ipv6 address auto link-local
undo ipv6 address auto link-local
View
VLAN interface view
Parameters
None
Description
Use the
ipv6 address auto link-local
command to automatically generate a link-local
address for an interface.
Use the
undo ipv6 address auto link-local
command to remove the automatically
generated link-local address for an interface.
By default, a link-local address is generated automatically after a site-local IPv6
address or global unicast address is configured for an interface.
Note that:
z
After an IPv6 site-local address or aggregatable global unicast address is
configured for an interface, a link-local address is generated automatically. The
automatically generated link-local address is the same as the one generated by
using the
ipv6 address auto link-local
command.
z
The
undo ipv6 address auto link-local
command can be used only after the
ipv6 address auto link-local
command is executed. However, if an IPv6
site-local address or aggregatable global unicast address is already configured for
an interface, the interface still has a link-local address because the system
automatically generates one for the interface. If no IPv6 site-local address or
aggregatable global unicast address is configured, the interface has no link-local
address.
