Lpbk Tool Button (Loopback Tool)

Loopback Tool tab 

The 

Loopback Tool

 tab allows the configuration of the loopback 

parameters and displays the traffic statistics as well as the S-OAM 
Responder statistics. 

Press the 

Lpbk Tool 

button and select the 

Loopback Tool 

tab.

Status

: The status field displays the current status of the Loopback test.

-- (Idle): 

Loopback Tool is not looping back frames and results are 

not available. 

In Progress

: Loopback Tool is looping back frames. 

Completed

: Loopback Tool is not looping back frames but results 

are available. The test 

Status

 indicates 

Completed

 when the 

loopback tool has been stopped. 

Start Time: 

The time when the Loopback Tool was started. 

Transparent (Pseudo-Physical

) check box when selected (cleared by 

default), determines that the Loopback tool operates as a physical 
loopback by transmitting all received frames unaltered and without 
discrimination. 

In transparent mode, the Network tab and the S-OAM Responder 
statistics are not available.

 

Note:

The 

Transparent

 mode is intended to be used for point-to-point topology; 

not for switched or routed networks. Use the 

Transparent

 mode with 

caution because all received frames are looped back without 
discrimination.
