Setup Menu

This section is organized using the Command Line

SETUP

menu sequence of menus and submenus. The

Web Interface is not organized in exactly the same way, but the Web Interface pages to control the same

features will be noted throughout this section.

The

SETUP

menu can be accessed via Telnet, SSH or serially via IO2. See the Accessing the TeleBoss

Telnet

section for instructions on accessing the unit via Telnet or the

Access via a Serial Connection

for

instructions on accessing the unit using I/O2.

The Main Setup Menu is accessed by typing

SETUP

followed by <Enter> at the command prompt, and is

organized in a logical tree structure. To use the menu tree enter the letter adjacent to the desired menu option

and the menu associated with that option will display. Use <Enter> or <Esc> to go back one menu level, or

<Ctrl+C> to return directly to the command prompt.

Press either <ESC> or <Enter> to go back one level in the menu tree, or <CTRL + C> to exit any Setup menu

and return to the command prompt.

The unit processes changes in real time. In other words, the unit begins to implement changes to its

configuration as soon as they are entered. There is no need to exit the Setup menu or reboot the unit to apply

changes. The exception to this rule is IP-specific network settings. Changes to these settings are

implemented only after all open Telnet command processors are closed.

Passwords are case sensitive and are masked in all menus for security reasons.

Network Settings

This menu tree contains settings for network communication, routing, VPN, SNMP, Email, and more.

Serial Settings

Choosing this option displays a menu which contains settings options pertaining to the function of the

serial ports.

Modem Settings

Choosing this option displays a menu where all of the modem settings and modem-specific security

options can be configured.

Security Settings

Choosing this option displays

a menu which contains all user profiles configurations and general security

settings
