Measure the cam lobe height. If the lobe
height is less than the service limit, replace the
camshaft complete with a new one. (Fig. 3.62)

Inspect the ball bearings of camshaft for
abnormal play, shake or pitting.

Measure the runout of the camshaft with a dial
gauge. Replace the camshaft with a new one if

Inspect each valve for trueness, burning,
