INSTRUMENT MAINTENANCE 

Predictive  diagnostic  functions  including  data  acquisition,  failure  warnings  and  alarms 
built  into  the  analyzer  allow  the  user  to  determine  when  repairs  are  necessary  without 
performing  unnecessary,  preventative  maintenance  procedures.  There  is,  however,  a 
minimal number of simple procedures that, when performed regularly, will ensure that 
the analyzer continues to operate accurately and reliably over its lifetime. Maintenance, 
repair and troubleshooting procedures are covered in Sections 8 and 9 of this manual. 

IMPORTANT 

A span and zero calibration check must be performed following some of the maintenance 
procedures listed below. Refer to Section 6.

Note 

The  front  panel  of  the  analyzer  is  hinged  at  the  bottom  and  may  be  opened  by  two 
fasteners located in the upper right and left corners to gain access to various components 
that  are  either  mounted  on  the  panel  itself  or  located  near  the  front  of  the  instrument 
(such as the particulate filter).
