Table D-116
Network Interface Properties—Routing tab
Field
Description
Allow multicast (UDP-based)
traffic
Enables support for multicast traffic on this interface.
This option is unchecked by default.
You must check this option when configuring support for dynamic routing.
Enable OSPF on interface
Enables support for OSPF on this interface.
This option is unchecked by default.
When you enable OSPF, you can set the following parameters:
■
Route Cost
This field is often used as a mechanism to give priority to one interface over
another. The lower the cost, the more likely it is that this interface gets
chosen over another. Acceptable values range from 0 to 65535.
The default value is 1.
■
Route Priority
Assigns a priority level, between 0 and 255, to this interface. Assigning a
priority level of 0 to an interface prevents this interface from becoming the
designated router on that network.
The default value is 1.
■
Key ID
A key ID, used for encryption of an MD5 password, which is between 1 and
256 characters in length.
The default value for this option is 15.
■
Key
A key, used in the exchange of OSPF packets, that is between 0 and 16
characters in length. If there is no key defined, authentication is disabled.
The default value for this option is no value.
■
Area
A numeric value between 0 and 200 characters in length, that is used to
define which OSPF area this network interface resides in.
The default value for this option is 0.
