Single Sign-on Rule Properties—Add Variable dialog box
The add variable dialog box lets you manually choose which authentication variables are gathered for
remote users in a single sign-on rule.

Single Sign-on Rule Properties—Description tab
Optionally, provides an extended description. This information is useful to help track changes or it can
be used as criteria for searches.
The maximum length is 20,000 alphanumeric characters.
Authentication URL URL that handles the authentication data from the form on the logon HTML page.
Authentication
method
The method used to gather authentication variables.
The options are:

Get
Authentication data is encoded by the browser into a URL.
■
Post
Authentication data appears within the message body. This is the default.
Failed method
URL to which users are redirected when the authentication fails.
Capture all
authentication
variables
Captures all authentication variables.
This option is selected by default.
Capture only the
following
Manually selects the authentication variables to capture.
This option is disabled by default.
Variable Name
If you are using the Capture only the following option, to add authentication variables to the
list, click Add, select the variable from the Authentication Variable dialog box, and then
click OK. To remove a variable from the list, select it, click Remove, and then click OK.
Variable Type
Type of each authentication variable. This field is read-only.
