You can unlock the LCD panel from the appliance by using your root password. The LCD panel
relocks again after 60 seconds of inactivity.

To change the administrator password, do the following:

In the Confirmation panel, review the summary of your configuration.

If you locked the LCD panel or changed the default gateway, a message tells you that the security
gateway will be rebooted in 30 seconds and asks if you want to reboot immediately

If you do not want to wait for the reboot to start, click
OK
.
The Symantec Gateway Security 5000 Series v3.0 logon dialog box displays and the security
gateway reboots.
When the reboot has completed, you can log on to the SGMI again.

Host name
Type the host name of the security gateway.
Domain name
Type the domain name of the security gateway.
Default gateway
Type the IP address of the default gateway.
In most cases, the default gateway is the router or connection you have to your ISP.
Change administrator password To enable changing the administrator password, check this option.
Current password
Type the current administrator password.
New password
Type a new administrator password.
The admin password should be at least 10 characters long and should not
contain digits, uppercase letters, or punctuation marks.
You can still change the password if you do not meet these conditions, but
you will receive a warning message.
The password is encrypted and appears as a string of asterisk (*) characters.
Verify password
Retype the new password to verify the change.
