In the Network Interfaces panel, click
Add VLANs
.

In the Add VLANs dialog box, do the following:

In the Network Interfaces panel, the VLANs that you added are listed in the table. The Interface
type for all the new VLANs is Not Used. To make a VLAN usable, select it in the table.

Below the table, do the following:

Next

In the Confirmation panel, scroll to Network interfaces to review the summary of the new network
interface.

Finish

A message tells you that the security gateway will be rebooted in 30 seconds and asks if you want to
reboot immediately

If you do not want to wait for the reboot to start, click
OK
.
The Symantec Gateway Security 5000 Series v3.0 logon dialog box displays and the security
gateway reboots.
When the reboot has completed, you can log on to the SGMI again.

After adding the VLAN interface, you can use it in the following ways:

In rules, as the point where traffic arrives at or leaves the security gateway
■
In clientless VPN profiles, as the location of the DHCP server
■
In host and subnet network entities, as the spoof protected interface
■
In security gateway network entities, to identify the security gateway
■
In redirected services, as the requested address
■
In address transforms, as the point where traffic arrives at or leaves the security gateway

Interface
From the drop-down list, select the network interface that serves as the trunk port
for the VLANs.
Starting VLAN ID
Type the ID of the first VLAN.
Number of VLANs
Type the number of VLANs being added.
The maximum number of supported VLANs is 48.
Interface type
From the drop-down list, select the interface type.
Name
Type the logical name of the VLAN interface. This is the name that is used in rules.
IP address
Type the IP address that will be used for this VLAN ID.
Netmask
Type the subnet mask address.
