Using portal pages to customize the user experience
Adding a corporate name and logo
The security gateway comes with a default Symantec logo and company name that are displayed on all
portal pages. You can replace these with your own corporate name and logo to display them to remote
users.
Prerequisites
Complete the following task before beginning this procedure:

To add a corporate name and logo

In the SGMI, in the left pane, under Assets, click
Portal Pages
.

In the right pane, on the Portal Page Appearance tab, click
Properties
.

In the Organization Properties dialog box, in the Organization name text box, replace the Symantec
name with your own corporate name.

Click
OK
.

Next to the Logo text box, click
Browse
to browse to a logo file (in .gif, .jpg, or .png format) to
display in place of the default Symantec logo.

Click
OK
.

Optionally, do one of the following:

To save your configuration and activate later, on the toolbar, click
Save
.
■
To activate your configuration now, on the toolbar, click
Activate
.
When prompted to save your changes, click
Yes
.

Adding news items to a portal page
News items let you put messages for remote users on portal pages. News items are global. They are not
specific to any single portal page. The same message appears to all clientless VPN users. The example
portal page contains a news item warning users that a file server will be taken out of service this
weekend. News items can be set to expire automatically after a specified period of time.
Prerequisites
Complete the following tasks before beginning this procedure:

To add a news item

In the SGMI, in the left pane, under Assets, click
Portal Pages
.

In the right pane, on the Portal Page Appearance tab, click
New
.

In the Portal Page News Properties dialog box, on the General tab, do the following:

In the Expiration date calendar, select the last day that you want the message to appear.
■
In the News item text box, type the message to display to clientless VPN users.

Click
OK
.
The news item displays in the end-user interface from the day you enter it until its expiration date.
