Secure Desktop Mail Access
Clientless VPN can serve as a proxy to connect a remote user’s mail client to a company POP or IMAP
server that is located behind a security gateway.
Secure Desktop Mail Access Properties—General tab
Use the Secure Desktop Mail Access General tab to configure the security gateway as a mail proxy.

Secure Desktop Mail Access Properties—Description tab
Optionally, provides an extended description. This information is useful to help track changes or it can
be used as criteria for searches.
The maximum length is 20,000 alphanumeric characters.
Secure Web Mail Access
The Secure Web Mail tabs let you accommodate different possible mail server configurations by
mapping IMAP servers to SMTP servers for use with the Web mail client. In addition, you can set the
domain name for the outgoing email messages if the SMTP mail server allows it.

Field
Description
Mail protocol
The selected mail protocol (POP3, SMTP, or IMAP).
Enable secure
desktop access
Indicates whether this option is enabled.
This option is unchecked by default.
Remote IP
IP address or fully qualified domain name of the remote mail server.
Remote port
Port number that the security gateway should use to connect:

110 for POP3
■
143 for IMAP4
■
993 for S-IMAP
■
995 for S-POP
Scheme
Authentication scheme associated with the server that hosts the appropriate credentials for
users using this feature.
Enable SSL
encryption
Requires the mail server to use an SSL connection.
This option is unchecked by default.
